Singapore Tuition is single-minded in helping you boost your scores.

Starting today.

Our tuition coordinators are former MOE teachers from good schools.

Every year since 2006, we have helped satisfied parents and students hire their perfect tutors.

We are very familiar with how to properly shortlist and interview the correct home tutors before we show you between 4 to 10 profiles of qualified tutors – within 12 (usually 6) hours.

Each of these private tutors have proven experience in dependably helping their students’ grades quickly improve by at least 10 to 20 marks – as shown in the good feedback that parents had given to us.

Our team of 31,000 experienced tutors comprise MOE teachers, PhD-tutors, graduated/post-graduate (Master’s)/undergraduate tutors.

Each of our accomplished tutors have between 2 to over 30 years of teaching and home tutoring experience in primary/secondary school, junior college, polytechnic and university levels.

We have a strong team of tuition teachers who specialize in preparing students for the important PSLE, GCE O and A Level exams.

Every few weeks, there are tests, assessments, and exams in school. Once any student does not pay careful attention in class for 1 to 2 lessons, it is close to impossible to catch up.

Being wrongly-prepared for your school and national exams will impact your prospects of being admitted to the class, school and university of your choice.

Tutors from Singapore Tuition will ensure that within 4 lessons, you will:

  • Learn how to prevent the common mistakes and wrong habits that will lead you to writing imprecise answers
  • Avoid “mental blocks”, cope with exam stress, prevent any tendency to make careless mistakes
  • We will show you crucial analytical steps that lead you to the right answers, no matter how “tricky” the questions are
  • Difficult questions will not surprise you any more, because you would be familiar with the skills you need in order to correctly answer what is required
  • Pace yourself, so that you have enough time to answer every exam question, as well as to check your answers at least once before you hand in your work
  • Start on a systematic approach to strengthen the answering skills that require you to compare, contrast and use critical/creative thinking techniques

Your grades will quickly improve by at least 10 to 25 marks – as shown in the good feedback that parents had given to us.

SINGAPORE’S LEADING PRIVATE TUITION AGENCY

HOW DO I REQUEST FOR A TUTOR?

You can request for a tutor by submitting our online Request Form.

Upon receiving your request, we will Whatsapp you to discuss your child’s academic needs. We will spend the next few hours shortlisting several suitable tutors within our database and network for your consideration.

Our working hours are from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Tuition usually commences within one week after you have selected a tutor.

TRIAL LESSON

The paid trial lessons can be 1.5 hours or 2 hours per session.

CAN I CHANGE THE TUTOR AFTER THE TUITION BEGINS?

You just need to pay for the tuition session(s) that have been conducted. There will not be any extra charges for the change.

AM I ABLE TO VIEW THE TUTOR’S CERTIFICATES BEFORE THE FIRST LESSON?

You can request to see the hardcopies of certificates of your tutor to be presented to you during the first lesson.

The client acknowledges that it is his/her responsibility to verify the suitability, credentials and qualifications of any tutor with whom he/she engages.

HOW MUCH DO I PAY FOR YOUR TUTOR MATCHING SERVICES?

Singapore Tuition is Singapore’s leading private tuition agency and our matching service is free for students/parents requesting for tutors. This is because our agency commission is charged to the tutor, not to you.

The client will pay to Singapore Tuition half of the fees payable in the first 4 calendar weeks. This amount is the commission to Singapore Tuition for matching the tutor to the client, and will be borne by the tutor.

Thereafter, the client will pay the tuition fees directly to the tutor.

If lessons are postponed during the first two weeks, the commission payable to Singapore Tuition will be based on the tuition session conducted the subsequent week(s).

The tutor shall collect all fees due to the tutor from the parent after the two weeks. Singapore Tuition will not assist in any recovery of fees.

PAYMENT OF FEES

The client is required to pay tuition fees only for the number of hours of lessons given by the tutor.

If you decide to stop the tuition after the first lesson, you are required to pay for only that lesson.

Please transfer the fee for that lesson to Singapore Tuition and we will transfer the tutor’s fee to him/her.

Tutors are not authorized at any time to collect the payment on Singapore Tuition’s behalf.

Tuition fees are to be paid every 4 weeks to the tutor, unless otherwise agreed between the client and the tutor.

PAYMENT MODE

We will provide our bank account information for you to make payment via internet banking or ATM transfer directly to Singapore Tuition’s bank account.

If the client fails to pay us, Singapore Tuition reserves the right to terminate the Assignment. This is in fairness to the tutor, who might need to give the available slot to another client if this Assignment does not materialize.

Once the payment is received, it will be acknowledged in the form of a receipt, issued to the payer (Parent/Requestor/Guardian) via Whatsapp, sms, email or other electronic communications medium. We will also provide details of the Tuition Assignment that can include: tutor’s name, hourly fee, date of commencement of tuition, subject(s), level, duration of each lesson and frequency, etc.

FIRST LESSON

Once the client accepts the tutor’s candidacy, the client will not be able to change the schedule of the First Lesson.

Clients are allowed to make changes in the schedule after the First Lesson is over. However, Singapore Tuition hopes that this is not necessary as the tutor has already reserved that slot of time for you.

If you want to make changes in the schedule, please consult with your tutor to ask if he/she is able to change the schedule or not.

The tutor is to bring his/her identity document, academic transcripts/certificates and relevant documents for the First Lesson for verification purposes.

If the tutor is unable to conduct the First Lesson of a tuition assignment, the tutor must call Singapore Tuition at least 3 business days before the actual lesson. If the tutor fails to notify Singapore Tuition of his/her cancellation/postponement, an administrative charge of S$30 will be imposed on him/her.

If the tutor fails to contact Singapore Tuition with a valid reason to inform us about the tutor’s absence from the lesson, the tutor’s profile at Singapore Tuition may be blacklisted. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

LOCATION OF TUTORING LESSONS

Tutors will conduct lessons at the student’s residence unless otherwise specified and agreed upon by both the client and the tutor.

If the client has a request for the tuition to be conducted at another location (eg a friend’s home), Singapore Tuition will ask if the tutor is able to accommodate the request.

Singapore Tuition and the tutor will not be responsible if the given location is occupied or not available for use for the lessons and the officially scheduled timings will still be counted as a paid lesson.

TUTOR REASSIGNMENT OR CANCELLATION OF ASSIGNMENTS

There is no obligation or contract to complete a fixed number of lessons, except for the First Lesson.

If at any time the client is not satisfied with the tutor, the client may request a replacement or termination. However, the client is responsible for paying the fee for the number of lessons given prior to termination.

Singapore Tuition will discuss separately with the client and the tutor regarding future tuition arrangements, and Singapore Tuition will change the tutor for the client. There will not be any extra charges for the change and the client needs to pay just for the tuition session(s) that have been conducted.

If the client cancels a tutoring assignment before the tutor completes the agreed number of lessons for the first 4 calendar weeks, Singapore Tuition assumes full claim to 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered in the month. For example, if the client had requested for 8 lessons per month, but the assignment was cancelled after the 5th session, Singapore Tuition will be paid pro-rated commission for the 5 lessons conducted.

Singapore Tuition will not be liable for any payment charges or issues arising from the cancellation of tuition assignments by the client.

If the client terminates the Assignment because the tutor is often late, skips lessons without valid explanations etc, the tutor will bear Singapore Tuition’s full commission fee.

If the tutor cancels the Assignment after confirming acceptance (that is, the client’s contact information and address have been given to the tutor), the tutor will need to compensate the commission which amounts to 50% of the fees payable (as stated in the confirmation Whatsapp, sms, email or other forms of electronic communications messages) for the first 4 weeks.

If the tutor wishes to cancel a Tuition Assignment before the end of the first 4 calendar weeks, the tutor is to inform both Singapore Tuition as well as the client at least 3 days before the next lesson date. Singapore Tuition will recover our legal share of the one-time commission of 50% of the fee for the first 4 calendar weeks from the tutor. Tutors are encouraged to have a long-term commitment as the clients have vested their trust in them.

TERMINATION

The tutor will receive full or pro-rated payment for the number of lessons rendered, provided the tutor has complied with the Terms of this Agreement.

The client has the right to terminate the tuition if the tutor is unable to produce the documents certifying his/her credentials. In such cases, the tutor has to pay Singapore Tuition the amount of money equivalent to the tuition fee for the day, as commission.

USE OF INFORMATION

The primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide the users with a smooth and customized matching experience.

To ensure success of the Tuition Assignment, Singapore Tuition is selective of the type of students we accept as there is a small percentage of students who are not suitable for tuition.

TUITION REQUESTS AND ASSIGNMENTS

The tutor and the client explicitly agree to Singapore Tuition and our network contacting you via Whatsapp, phone call, sms and/or other electronic communications channels to conduct tuition matches.

If the proposed Assignment interests you, please reply us via Whatsapp, sms or through the same electronic communications channel that we contacted you with. There is no need for you to call us.

Please note that Assignments would be confirmed with the client and tutors based on the most qualified match and prompt response from the tutor.

We reserve complete rights to reject any applications for the assignments.

If the tutor is not interested in the Assignment that we contacted you with, please disregard the assignment message.

CLIENTS’ CRITERIA FOR SELECTING TUTORS

The criteria stated by the client for each Tuition Assignment can differ from case to case.

Some clients require MOE teachers, others state their preference for experienced undergraduates with proven experience to improve the grades of their students.

Tuition Assignments are based on tuition demand and how well the profile of each tutor matches with the client’s requirements.

Singapore Tuition makes tutor recommendations based on the tutors’ known track record in successful tutoring.

The submission of the tutor’s profile to the client does not bind the client to engage the services of the tutor, and remains subject to confirmation by the client.

FEES AND COMMISSION

Once the tutor and the client confirm a match, the tuition rate is non-negotiable once agreed upon.

The client will pay to Singapore Tuition the fees amounting to half of the fees payable in the first 4 calendar weeks. This amount shall be deemed as the commission to Singapore Tuition for matching the tutor to the client, and will be borne by the tutor who will forgo receiving the said fees paid by the client. Therefore, no payment will be made by the client to the tutor for half of the lessons conducted in the first month.

Thereafter, the client will pay the tuition fees directly to the tutor. The tutor shall collect all fees due to the tutor from any student or parent after the first two weeks. Singapore Tuition will not assist in any recovery of fees.

Tuition fees are to be paid every 4 weeks to the tutor, unless otherwise agreed between the client and the tutor.

If lessons are postponed during the first two weeks, the commission payable to Singapore Tuition will be based on the tuition session conducted the following week(s).

ACCEPTANCE OF ASSIGNMENT

Upon receiving an Assignment Description, the tutor may apply for the Assignment. If the tutor is chosen by the client, the tutor is bound to conduct the lessons as stated in the Assignment Description, or as mutually amended in subsequent communications.

TRIAL LESSON

Paid trial lessons can have 1.5 hour or 2 hour durations.

TUTORING LOCATION

The tutor will be teaching at the student’s residence at the mutually agreed upon time, unless specified and agreed by the client and the tutor. The tutor must provide his/her own transport to the client’s home/lesson location.

FIRST LESSON

Once the client accepts the tutor’s candidacy, the client will not be able to change the schedule of the First Lesson.

Clients are allowed to make changes in the schedule after the First Lesson is over. However, Singapore Tuition hopes that this is not necessary as the tutor has already reserved that slot of time for the client. If the client wants to make changes in the schedule, the client is to consult with the tutor to ask if he/she is able to change the schedule or not.

The tutor is to bring your academic transcripts/certificates and relevant documents for your first lessons with the client for verification purposes.

If the tutor is unable to conduct the First Lesson of a tuition assignment, the tutor must call Singapore Tuition at least 3 business days before the actual lesson. If the tutor fails to notify Singapore Tuition of the tutor’s cancellation/postponement, an administrative charge of S$30 will be imposed on the tutor.

If the tutor fails to contact Singapore Tuition with a valid reason to inform us about the tutor’s absence from the lesson, the tutor’s profile at Singapore Tuition may be blacklisted. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

You are encouraged to carefully and responsibly consider before committing to an Assignment.

CENTRAL PROVIDENT FUND

Tutors agree to be responsible for all required obligations to the Central Provident Fund as a self-employed person. This is because, you, as a tutor, are providing private tutoring services under a contract of service to the client as an independent contractor. The tutor is not an employee of Singapore Tuition, and the tutor accepts full responsibility for all income tax, insurance and other liabilities payable in relation to any fees generated from a tuition assignment.

TUTOR REASSIGNMENT OR CANCELLATION OF ASSIGNMENTS

If at any time the client is not satisfied with the tutor, the client may request a replacement or termination. However, the client is responsible for paying the fee for the number of lessons given prior to termination.

Singapore Tuition will discuss separately with the client and the tutor regarding future tuition arrangements, and Singapore Tuition will change the tutor for the client. There will not be any extra charges for the change and the client needs to pay just for the tuition session(s) that have been conducted.

If the client cancels a tutoring assignment before the tutor completes the agreed number of lessons for the first 4 calendar weeks, Singapore Tuition assumes full legal claim to 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered in the month. For example, if the client had requested for 8 lessons per month, but the assignment was cancelled after the 5th session, Singapore Tuition will be paid commission for the 5 lessons conducted.

Singapore Tuition will not be liable for any payment charges or issues arising from the cancellation of tuition assignments by the client.

If the client terminates the Assignment because the tutor is often late, skips lessons without valid explanations etc, the tutor will bear Singapore Tuition’ full commission fee.

If the tutor cancels the Assignment after confirming acceptance (that is, the client’s contact information and address have been given to the tutor), the tutor will need to compensate the commission which amounts to 50% of the fees payable (as stated in the confirmation Whatsapp, sms, email or other forms of electronic communications) for the first 4 weeks.

Tutors are encouraged to have a long-term commitment as the clients have vested their trust in you.

TERMINATION

The client has the right to terminate the tuition if the tutor is unable to produce the documents certifying his/her credentials. In such cases, the tutor has to pay Singapore Tuition the amount of money equivalent to the tuition fee for the day as commission.

The tutor will receive full or pro-rated payment for the number of lessons rendered, provided the tutor has complied with the Terms of this Agreement.

DISCLAIMER

While Singapore Tuition tries to provide clients and tutors with the closest tutor match possible, we cannot guarantee a satisfying match. We hold no responsibility or liability for problems, unhappiness, or disputes that are a result of the tutor or client. Singapore Tuition will not act as an arbitrator for any disagreements that arise between tutor and client. However, Singapore Tuition may try to mediate whenever possible and reserves all rights to blacklist any party who is at fault. Singapore Tuition reserves the right to terminate or deny services to any client or tutor at any time.
